The crowd poured into the Chase Center Sunday night in San Francisco for Dave Chappelle’s comedy show. At the end of the show, Chappelle welcomed Elon Musk on stage. Instead of being greeted with cheers, the crowd welcomed the new Twitter owner with boos. There were a few cheers, but not enough to drown out the booing. Chappelle tried to calm down the crowd with a few jokes. Chappelle and Musk had a few laughs when Chappelle said, “It sounds like some of the people you fired are in the audience.” After a few more jokes, Chappelle ended the show by saying there are better ways to express frustrations with Musk than booing.

During the entire segment, Musk took it well; Monday, Musk was busy on Twitter. He responded to a user saying he received 90% cheers and 10% boos. He did acknowledge that was still a lot of boos which was a first for him in real life. However Musk feels about being booed, it must not be that important. He was once again trending on Twitter for his comments about woke culture. Musk tweeted Monday saying, “The woke mind virus is either defeated or nothing else matters.”

Maybe comments like this make the wealthiest man in the world unlikeable. He is known for many memorable comments, including about Dr. Fauci and falsely suggesting that Twitter’s former trust and safety executive’s doctoral dissertation made him an advocate for child sexualization.
Could it be his changes to Twitter that have upset people? First, he decided to lay off half of the staff and subject those who stayed to reportedly extreme work conditions. Musk also reinstated several accounts, including Trump, Ye, and Andrew Tate’s, that were initially banned for controversial comments.
