Former President Donald Trump released a line of sneakers, with the signature pair—the “Never Surrender High-Top Sneaker”—selling out within hours of release. “I just want to tell you, I’ve wanted to do this for a long time,” Trump said during an announcement at SneakerCon Philadelphia on Saturday. “I have some incredible people that work with me on things, and they came up with this, and this is something I’ve been talking about for 12 years, 13 years, and I think it’s gonna be a big success.”

The shoe went for $399 and only 1,000 pairs were made available for initial release. At least ten of them were autographed by Trump at random. Each pair was numbered and came in a TRUMP-branded box. “Bold, gold, and tough” reads the official description.

Alongside the Never Surrenders, Trump also put out two low-top sneakers: a red pair called the “T-Red Wave” and a white pair called “POTUS 45,” both selling for $199.

He also released a perfume and a cologne called “Victory47.”

The fine print on the website launch page explains they are products of 45Footwear LLC, which uses the Trump name through a license agreement but is not part of the Trump Organization and thus the Trump Organization is not responsible for them.

Trump critic Kurt Eichenwald looked into the records of the LLC, which appears to be based out of Sheridan, Wyoming. Eichenwald claims Sheridan is a popular locale for shady business dealings, linking to a Washington Post story on the subject.
