Critics jested that President Biden needed a “bathroom run” as he failed to wait until commercial break to escape from the set of a televised interview with MSNBC’s Nicolle Wallace.

The President sat down for a rare, live conversation on Thursday with the liberal host which concentrated on his feedback regarding the Supreme Court’s historic move to do away with affirmative action. After almost 20 minutes of not-so-tough-hitting questions, and as Wallace was still speaking, Biden casually stood up from his seat, took the scenic route behind the host’s chair, and exited stage right.

The footage quickly went viral and became today’s talk of the internet.

A variety of Twitter users posted the video with commentary that included jokingly hypothesizing about a bathroom run, listing sarcastic guidelines to follow when appearing on TV for an interview, and quipping about how the scene was the summation of Biden’s entire presidency.

Wallace, who was visibly excited to be speaking with the President, asked mostly softball questions about his opinion of how the late Sen. John McCain would view the modern-day Republican Party, and if the Supreme Court should be reformed. The President spent much of the interview describing what he meant by the comment he made, knocking the conservative-leaning Supreme Court as “not normal.”
