Our Revolution, the political action committee started by Senator Bernie Sanders (I-VT) during his 2016 presidential campaign, is planning to tell hundreds of thousands of supporters to vote against Joe Biden in Democratic primary elections due to his support for Israel.

The New York Times reports that the group is planning to email 87,000 people in Michigan and roughly 225,000 others in various states with a call to action: vote “Uncommitted” in the upcoming elections and “push Biden to change course on Gaza now.”

Michigan’s election is scheduled for February 27th. The letter to Michigan voters will be signed by former Rep. Andy Levin (D-MI), who believes Biden is at risk of losing the election to Trump due to his foreign policy leaving far-left voters frustrated.

“I am working with some people who feel like they will never vote for Joe Biden, but there are many, many, many I feel will vote for Joe Biden on Nov. 5 if he changes course,” Levin told the Times. “This is the best way I can help Joe Biden.”

Our Revolution will reportedly conduct phone banking efforts, text campaigns, and in-person events at Michigan college campuses to push the “Uncommitted” vote. Joining them in this initiative is an Arab-American activist group based in Dearborn called Listen to Michigan, which is led by the younger sister of Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-MI), Layla Elabed. The group has amassed a budget of $250,000 to engage in various advocacy efforts. “We’re a voting bloc,” Elabed said. “We have the political power to really shift Biden’s election. We did it in 2020.”

The Chairman of Our Revolution, Larry Cohen, believes the effort will persuade at least 10 percent of the electorate—or 20,000 voters.

Governor Gretchen Whitmer, an ardent Biden acolyte, came to the defense of the president publicly. “There’s a lot at stake in this upcoming election, and I would just encourage people not to lose sight of that, too,” she told the press last Thursday. “A potential second term for the former president would be very hard on all the communities that are still being impacted by what’s happening overseas as well, and that’s something that shouldn’t be lost on people’s calculation, too.”
