Despite her family’s Republican ties, Barbara’s support reflects her long-standing advocacy for women’s rights and health care, as she previously supported Planned Parenthood.
“It was inspiring to join friends and meet voters with the Harris-Walz campaign in Pennsylvania this weekend,” Bush told People Magazine in a statement Tuesday. “I’m hopeful they’ll move our country forward and protect women’s rights.”

Bush’s endorsement is part of a broader trend of Republicans, including Dick Cheney and his daughter Liz Cheney, rallying against Donald Trump in favor of Harris.
