The new version is expected to be released in December on the Apple TV box, across Apple’s platforms, and on the other TV operating systems integrated with Apple TV. This will be a part of an upcoming tvOS software update, according to sources close to the matter who asked to remain anonymous due to privacy matters.
As part of the refresh, the app will be re-designed to have an aesthetic “reminiscent of Netflix and other video services” – the panel on the left-hand for navigating between the different video categories.
