Actress Angelina Jolie took to Instagram to condemn Israel for its airstrike of the Jabalia refugee camp on Tuesday. The Jewish state conducted the attack to kill a Hamas commander, which Israel claims was killed in the attack, but the strike also killed 50 civilians and injured 150 others.

Jolie posted a photograph of the bombing’s aftermath and the following caption:

This is the deliberate bombing of a trapped population who have nowhere to flee. Gaza has been an open-air prison for nearly two decades and is fast becoming a mass grave. 40% of those killed are innocent children. Whole families are being murdered. While the world watches and with the active support of many governments, millions of Palestinian civilians – children, women, families – are being collectively punished and dehumanized, all while being deprived food, medicine and humanitarian aid against international law. By refusing to demand a humanitarian ceasefire and blocking the UN Security Council from imposing one on both parties, world leaders are complicit in these crimes.

This is not the first time Jolie weighed in on the Israel-Hamas conflict. Four days ago, Jolie posted to three slides of text to Instagram, both condemning the October 7th terrorist attack on Israel as well as the subsequent airstrikes carried out by Israel on the Gaza Strip.

She went onto say that due to her “work with refugees for 20 years” her sympathy is with displaced people no matter who they are. She discussed the shortages in aid available to the Palestinians and plugged nonprofit charity group Doctors Without Borders to her more than 14 million followers.

Other major celebrities that have chosen to voice support for Palestine include half-Palestinian models Gigi Hadid and Bella Hadid as well as “Hulk” actor Mark Ruffalo.
