Tucker Carlson has confirmed he will be interviewing Russian Federation President Vladimir Putin to talk about the war in Ukraine. In a four minute video clip uploaded to social media platform X, Carlson stated it is his and his team’s “job” to interview figures like Putin, especially since he is involved in a conflict that is upending the world economy. He did not say when the interview will be uploaded.
As Carlson pointed out, many journalists have interviewed Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky since Russian launched its invasion. No American reporter has interviewed him since NBC’s Keir Simmons in 2021, before the Ukraine War began.

Carlson said he will not be putting the interview behind a paywall and made clear he did not receive payment from any foreign government or organization for the event. He said Elon Musk promised his team not to block the interview when they upload it to X.
