Academy Award-winning actor Jon Voight, appointed by Donald Trump as a “special ambassador” to Hollywood alongside Mel Gibson and Sylvester Stallone, is preparing to present Trump with a plan to revitalize the US film and TV industry with a new, MAGA-friendly twist.
Voight and his manager, Steven Paul, aim to propose federal tax incentives, infrastructure investments, job training programs, and changes to the US tax code, in hopes of keeping more film production in America rather than losing business to countries with more competitive incentives.
“It’s important that we compete with what’s going on around the world so there needs to be some sort of federal tax incentives,” Paul said.

Their approach seeks to go beyond state-level tax credits and could include raising or extending the current deduction limits for film productions under Section 181 of the tax code.
The group has met with studio executives, unions, and state officials to refine their ideas.
As Valuetainment previously reported, Trump tapped Voight, Stallone, and Gibson to be his ambassadors to the entertainment industry shortly ahead of his inauguration in January.
“They will serve as Special Envoys to me for the purpose of bringing Hollywood, which has lost much business over the last four years to Foreign Countries, BACK—BIGGER, BETTER, AND STRONGER THAN EVER BEFORE!” Trump wrote on Truth Social. “These three very talented people will be my eyes and ears, and I will get done what they suggest. It will again be, like The United States of America itself, The Golden Age of Hollywood!”
The plan is intended to reverse recent declines in US film production and counter international competition.
