The underground facility is reportedly a part of a larger network located in Lebanon, bolstering the group’s ability to carry out missile attacks into Israel. Hezbollah is a political party and military group in Lebanon, currently embroiled in conflict with Israel. Iran, a supporter of Hezbollah, has faced criticism for its military capabilities relative to Israel.
Weeks ago, Hezbollah leader Fouad Shukur was killed by Israeli forces, alongside Ismail Haniyeh. In 10 months of fighting, over 400 Hezbollah militants have been killed by the Israeli military. Fighting began on Israel’s northern border with Lebanon shortly after the October 8, 2023 attack by Hamas against Israel.
