Twin billionaire entrepreneurs Tyler and Cameron Winklevoss announced on Thursday that they had each donated $1 million in Bitcoin to former President Donald Trump, praising his efforts to end President Joe Biden’s “war on crypto.”

In a lengthy X post announcing his 15.47 BTC donation, Tyler Winklevoss lambasted the Biden administration for “weaponizing multiple government agencies to bully, harass, and sue the good actors” in the crypto industry in an effort to destroy it.

“This Administration’s actions have been nothing short of an unprecedented abuse of power wielded entirely for twisted political gain at the complete expense of innovation, the American taxpayer, and the American economy,” he wrote. “There is nothing the Biden Administration can do or say at this point to pretend otherwise.”

The billionaire investor went on to accuse Biden of strongarming banks into turning away cryptocurrency users, preventing the Securities and Exchange Commission from writing new regulations for crypto, and miring the sector in red tape.

Winklevoss continued:

President Donald J. Trump is the pro-Bitcoin, pro-crypto, and pro-business choice. This is not even remotely open for debate. Anyone who tells you otherwise is severely misinformed, delusional, or not telling the truth. It’s time to take our country back. It’s time for the crypto army to send a message to Washington. That attacking us is political suicide. This is why I will be casting my vote for President Trump in November and I hope you will too. Onward!

Moments later, in a much shorter post, Cameron Winklevoss confirmed an equivalent donation to the Trump campaign, giving his endorsement and describing the former president as “Pro-Bitcoin, Pro-Crypto, [and] Pro-Business.”

During his first term in office, Trump said that he was “not a fan” of cryptocurrencies and largely ignored the digital currency space. However, in recent months, he has made a gradual about-face on the subject and now openly supports crypto technology. In May, he became the first major candidate in US history to accept Bitcoin donations.

Earlier this year, Trump also pledged to “never allow” the creation of a Central Bank Digital Currency (CBDC) in the US, which would give the federal government significant control over the crypto market.

The Winklevoss twins, most famous for their lawsuit against Facebook creator Mark Zuckerberg, recently attended a fundraiser for Trump in San Francisco, which brought in more than $12 million for the former president’s campaign.
