2022 will be known for many things, but if you are searching for the two biggest stories in entertainment and pop culture, look no further than the epic, self-inflicted career meltdowns of two former pop culture heavyweights, Will Smith and Ye.

Smith has been most known for the past decade for acting weird and putting out a lot of crappy movies, but he wasn’t entirely unlikeable for millions of people like he is now.

His unprovoked, Oscar-night slap of Chris Rock was the most watched sucker punch of all time, and it could end up ruining his career.

He hasn’t talked much since the assault, but he made news recently by telling the world who called to offer him support. Oh, it wasn’t one call. It wasn’t a couple of calls.  It was a week and a half of borderline stalking, and the man on the other end of the phone calls was boxer Floyd Mayweather.

Smith said Money Mayweather called him ten days in a row after he slapped Rock, trying to see if Will was “ok.”

Apparently, Will was so moved and impressed by the gesture that he may have made a secret vow not to sucker slap Mayweather if they ever find themselves in the same room.

Here’s what TMZ reported Smith told the audience at a private screening of his Emancipation film.

“[Floyd and I] met each other, we’ve seen each other around, but we weren’t like, friends.

And, the day after the Oscars, for 10 days, he called me every day. And he was like, ‘Hey, you know you the champ, right? You good? You know you the champ, right? I want you to hear my voice say it.”

A word of warning to Mayweather. The Fresh Prince used to be friends with Chris Rock.
