It seems Pennsylvania Sen. John Fetterman has been completely off the radar since being admitted into Walter Reed National Military Medical Center on Feb. 15.

Prior to being admitted for clinical depression treatment, the senator had checked himself into a hospital in Washington just days before, for symptoms of lightheadedness.

Fetterman was weeks into his service in Washington after suffering from a stroke back in May 2022 – since then, it seems the 53-year-old has had an incredibly rough time holding his position while also keeping his health in check.

“He’ll be back soon, at least over a week, but soon,” spokesperson Joe Calvello said Thursday.

According to Calvello, Fetterman is receiving daily briefings from chief of staff Adam Jentleson and is issuing statements through his office and sponsoring legislation.

A spokesperson said Fetterman is getting better and that the road to his recovery is going well. But we can’t help but wonder, who’s in his chair while the senator is away?

“We want to give him the space to recuperate,” Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer said at a news conference. “He needs it, it’s fair, it’s right. There are other people in the Senate who have taken their time to recuperate but I’m confident he’s going to come back and be an outstanding and fine senator.”

It strikes as odd that there are no reports of his progress, no photographs in therapy, no interviews from the mainstream media on health updates – nothing. Makes one wonder how this situation would be treated had Fetterman been a republican.

Instead, the senator remains in the dark along with Pennsylvanians wondering when the senator will be back and equipped to fulfill his duties.
