There’s an interesting battle of two superpowers going on right now.

Joe Biden’s ultra liberal agenda includes mandating that workers for big companies be vaccinated for COVID-19.

Texas governor Greg Abbott’s issued a recent order that bans that sort of mandate in his state regarding vaccinations.

So far, Biden seems to be winning when it comes to three of the biggest employers in the Lone Star state.

IBM, Southwest Airlines, and American Airlines all said that they will be complying with Biden’s order.

IBM has over 6,000 workers just in Austin, Here’s part a statement released by the tech giant Tuesday.

“IBM is a federal contractor and must comply with federal requirements, which direct employees of federal contractors to be fully vaccinated against Covid-19 by December 8th or obtain a medical or religious accommodation. We will continue to protect the health and safety of IBM employees and clients, and we will continue to follow federal requirements.”

American is the largest U.S. airline and has their corporate headquarters in Fort Worth. Dallas is the fourth largest, and is based in Dallas. Both companies have government contracts so you can imagine they feel the heat to make sure they comply.

Here’s part of the official statement from American.

“We believe the federal vaccine mandate supersedes any conflicting state laws, and this does not change anything for American,  We would be expected to comply with the president’s order to remain compliant as a federal contractor.”

The vaccine mandate may very well a reason over 3,000 Southwest flights had to be cancelled last weekend, as some reports suggest pilots staged a “sick out” in protest.
