The University of Buffalo is in hot water after axing their Young Americans for Freedom club at their institution.

The conservative student group “brings students together to advocate for individual freedom, free enterprise, a strong national defense, and traditional American values,” according to their website.

But that might have been a bit too much for the University of Buffalo, as Fox News reports.

In March, the university changed their club policies stating, “except for clubs in the Academic, Engineering, or Sports Councils, and clubs whose sole purpose is to engage in inter-collegiate competition, no SA club may be a chapter of or otherwise part of any outside organization.”

But now conservative students are banding together and are suing their university, saying their right to assemble and first amendment rights were violated.

The lawsuit may have some legs, due to left-leaning students verbally shooting themselves in the foot.

The lawsuit said, “In adopting this revision at this time, the Student Body President sought legal counsel and told the Student Association Senate, ‘We all know why we’re doing this,’ thereby admitting they were targeting Plaintiffs and their views.”

This means that the local school government went out of their way to see how they could shut down this one specific club.

The school’s March decision came only two weeks after the Daily Wire’s Michael Knowles gave a talk to the college.

Who knows if the lawsuit will get any legs, but the University hasn’t responded with their own defense. They may have to settle, re-instate the club and just let this whole thing go.
