You just can’t get enough of a good thing when it comes to national treasure Nicolas Cage.

Even though Cage won’t be part of a new Disney Plus series based on the “National Treasure” films, his presence launched the two movies that grossed more than $300 million each. (And, spoiler alert, there’s a third coming.)

The lead character in those films, Benjamin Gates, is a cryptologist/treasure hunter who finds stunning secrets about American history.

Disney has ordered 10 episodes of a reimagining of the franchise. And, good news: The project includes original producer Jerry Bruckheimer and writers Marianne and Cormac Wibberley.

The series has a promising plotline and is in good hands.

The lead character is Jess Morales, who, according to a Variety story, is a 20-year-old DREAMer who sets off on an adventure to recover lost treasure and uncover her mysterious family history.

No official casting has been announced, but the Wibberleys serve as executive producers with Jerry Bruckheimer Television.

The Wibberleys have worked with Bruckheimer on films such as “Bad Boys II” and “G-Force.”

For the Cage fans out there – and, come on, who isn’t a Cage fan? — there is new information to “treasure.”

He’s in line to star again as Benjamin Gates in the extremely long-awaited third theatrical release of the “National Treasure” franchise.

Cage, along with original cast members Justin Bartha, Diane Kruger, Harvey Keitel, Armando Riesco and Jon Voight, will be directed by Jon Turteltaub, who directed both previous versions in 2004 (“National Treasure”) and 2007 (“National Treasure: Book of Secrets”).

“National Treasure 3” first teased in 2008, has been in off-and-on development since then.

The first movie pulled in $347 million worldwide, with “Book of Secrets” reaching more than $459 million.
