In a video clip circulated after his headline-grabbing interview with Vladimir Putin, Tucker Carlson remarked that the Russian president is not good at interviews and is clearly not asked to explain himself often by those around him. At the same time, sources spotted Carlson meeting with NSA whistleblower Edward Snowden and Biden sexual assault accuser Tara Reade during his brief visit to Moscow, setting the stage for additional interviews.

Carlson chalked up Putin’s poor interviewing skills to the fact that he has not done an interview in nearly four years, when he was interviewed by NBC News’ Keir Simmons.

“He’s not good at explaining himself,” Carlson went on. “He’s smart—there’s no question about that. But he’s clearly spending a lot of time in a world where he doesn’t have to explain himself.” Carlson additionally said Putin was late, “as is his habit” according to his staffers.

A nine-minute-long post-interview video is available on the Tucker Carlson Network (TCN).

While Carlson was in Moscow, he was spotted meeting with former National Security Agency (NSA) whistleblower Edward Snowden as well as Tara Reade, a former junior Senate aide who accused Biden of sexual assault and eventually defected to Russia.

Reade has become a Kremlin advocate over the years and previously hosted Russian officials on her YouTube channel. In 2022, she was asked by Russian diplomats to speak on “weapons diversion” before the United Nations. Her right to speak was denied by the UN Security Council and she was replaced with journalist Dan Kovalik. Carlson invited Reade onto his Fox show “Tucker Carlson Tonight” in 2022 to discuss her lawsuit against the New York Times for posting her social security number.
