As Halloween nears, “The Rock” took a lump and then went a bit vampire on his social media audience. Dwayne Johnson, the Hollywood star and former college football player who also dabbled in XFL ownership and WWE Wrestling, apparently suffered a minor facial injury during a workout and shared a blood-tasting.
He wrote that he “got lumped” and would “stitch up later” in a message accompanying his Instagram video shared on Monday. “We ain’t playin’ tiddlywinks and we ain’t reciting nursery rhymes – it’s called the #ironparadise for a reason and things get extremely intense. Threw around my 50lb chains for a drop set – I got lumped up and need stitches.
“Taste your blood, keep training and stitch up later – rules of the house. And I can confirm my blood tastes like Teremana, calluses and BlaMoan (black and samoan) Hot Sauce.” Johnson, 48, who made $87.5 million as Hollywood’s highest-paid actor this year, according to Forbes magazine, also pushed north of 200 million Instagram followers after he endorsed the Biden-Harris presidential ticket. He is one of only a small set of people to have earned that distinction.
The video shows a blood trickle beginning at a cut above Johnson’s eye. He wipes some off and then tastes it. And, in a fashion befitting a leading man, he narrates the act. “That’s good. That’s real good,” he said as he removes his finger from his mouth. “Back to work.”
