The NFL has narrowed the playoff field down to the final four teams, and the matches that are set for next week’s Conference Final games could not be more different, or more intriguing.
In the NFC, the Packers will host the Tampa Bay Bucs next Sunday, a game that features an incredible quarterback showdown between 43-year old Tom Brady, and 37-year old Aaron Rogers.
Brady did it again, leading Tampa Back to a 30-20 win over Drew Brees and the New Orleans Saints Sunday. In his debut season with the Bucs, Brady did exactly what everyone expected him to do; make the Bucs great, although it was the Tampa defense that really stole the show, forcing four huge turnovers which led to three scores. Brady only finished 18 of 33 for 199 yards and two touchdowns, but he is now one win away from a chance to win his seventh Super Bowl title.
Sadly, this most likely will be the final game Drew Brees plays, as he is expected to announce his retirement.
In the AFC, it’s the two best young quarterbacks in the league that will face off for a shot at the Super Bowl. Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs will host the Buffalo Bills and their great young stud QB Josh Allen on Sunday. The Chiefs held on to be Cleveland 22-17 in a thriller, while the Bills ended the season for the Baltimore Ravens on Saturday night. Mahomes did suffer a concussion in the game, and his status will be updated early in the week.
It’s a dream matchup for football fans. The two best veteran quarterbacks in the league, and the two brightest young stars in the other. The winners meet in Tampa on February 7.
