The economy stinks right now.  There isn’t anybody not affected by the short-sighted, partisan, and amateurish economic moves of the Biden administration. And that includes the richest people on the planet.  Here’s a look at which uber-wealthy individuals bid farewell to the biggest fortunes in the past 12 months.

Let’s start with Jeff Bezos. Poor dude is top of the list after saying goodbye to roughly $70 billion in wealth. There’s no need to shed tears; he took possession of one of the most spectacular mega yachts in the world, and he’s in the running to purchase the Washington NFL team.

Elon Musk works so much with all the jobs he has that he doesn’t have much time to go shopping, but if and when he does, he’ll have $48 billion less to play with.

Sergey Brin, the co-founder of Google, likes to stay under the radar, but when you lose $44 billion in a year, you will attract a headline or two.

Look who is right behind him — his fellow Google co-founder Larry Page, who lost $41 billion.

The one person who didn’t earn their money on the list is MacKenzie Scott — who had the good fortune of being married to Jeff Bezos when he launched Amazon. She has $35 billion less to hand out to strangers.

Let’s go overseas to India for the next person. Gautam Adani is now best known for losing $28 billion in wealth.

Mukesh Ambani of India is next. He lost $21 billion.

Rounding out the list from Insider is Zen Yuqun ($18 billion), Scott Farquhar ($17 billion), and Zhang Yiming, the founder of TikTok’s parent company ByteDance — he’s down $17 billion.
