The average sale price of a single-family home in California hit a record $758,990 in March, a 23.9% increase from a year ago.

It has been estimated that it now costs approximately $350,000 a year to live a middle-class lifestyle in the city of San Francisco.

Taking inflation into account, it only seems to be getting worse…

Many people have grown tired of the high taxes, “woke” culture, and sky-high living expenses.

From 2020 to 2021, 249,239 people left California.

Eric McGhee, a senior fellow at the Public Policy Institute of California, said the state’s population decline is “largely a function of the pandemic.” He believes California will return to its trend of slow growth as things return to normal…

The underlying issues causing slow growth will remain, including a housing shortage that is driving prices to an all-time high.

For the 7th year in a row, more people have left California than moved in, according to new census data.

Many people are unable or unwilling to pay the premium to live in this state.

More than 86,000 people left California for Texas, nearly 70,000 left for Arizona and about 55,000 left for Washington.

In a recent University of California, Berkeley poll, 52% of registered voters said they’ve considered leaving the state for some of the following reasons:

  • 71% cite the high cost of housing
  • 58% cite high taxes
  • 46% cite political culture (particularly conservatives who say the state’s policies are not in line with their own)

California also tops the charts as the state with the highest marginal tax rate in the entire country.

Everything is more expensive in California. Daily life has become practically unbearable to afford.

From gas prices to food prices, taxes, and housing costs, citizens are paying top dollar to survive.

The former Mayor of San Diego, Kevin Faulconer, condemned the state for its lack of affordability.

“The numbers don’t lie. People are leaving our state because it’s not affordable to live here,” he said in a tweet.

The division between the wealthy and poor is more noticeable than ever before.

Safety is also a major concern.

In April of 2022, the United States Postal Service suspended delivery service in a Santa Monica neighborhood after several mail carriers were assaulted over the past few months.

LAPD Chief Michel Moore acknowledged the problems with crime saying,  “Our homicide arrests with those added resources increased by 37% with 429 homicide arrests last year. That’s a 47% increase from two years ago.”

Illegal immigration is out of control, and the sanctuary cities in California are making things even worse…

Governor Gavin Newsom signed a bill on June 30th, setting aside a budget of $307.9 billion to provide coverage to an additional 764,000 for people between the ages of 26 and 49.

“This will represent the biggest expansion of coverage in the nation since the start of the Affordable Care Act in 2014,” said Anthony Wright, the executive director of Health Access California.

“In California, we recognize that everybody benefits when everyone is covered.”
