The BDC team receives approximately 1,000-3,000 resumes weekly, selecting only a small fraction. They reject 82% of applicants based on initial criteria, which leaves a select group who proceed through a series of intensive tasks and interviews designed to measure each of the seven qualities.

Step-by-Step Selection Tasks

Candidates go through multiple steps to demonstrate their compatibility with the company’s values:

  1. Watch and Reflect: Candidates are asked to watch an introductory video and send an email reflecting on the company’s mission and specific role.
  2. Book Assignment: They are required to read Your Next Five Moves, a book by Patrick Bet-David, and submit a summary, assessing their commitment to personal development and adherence to deadlines.
  3. Business Plan Task: Candidates must draft a business plan, a test of their curiosity, strategic thinking, and engagement with Bet-David Consulting’s goals.

Final Selection

After completing these tasks, the few candidates that remain will have demonstrated the qualities that the team values. The final interview evaluates their confidence and ability to engage in high-stakes conversations with company executives. From this pool, only a small percentage of the original applicants receive job offers, setting a high standard by hiring only one out of every 40 applicants.
