It was a rough way to go if Monday night was the end of the road for Tom Brady and his football career that would never be equaled. The goat was not sharp, and his Tampa Bay Bucs were outplayed in every conceivable way, losing 31-14 in the NFL’s final game of the Super Wildcard weekend.  So, the $400 million question is this; will Brady be coming back?

The man has options. On the table is a $350 million job as the number one analyst for Fox Sports.  Many people are hoping he hops right into the broadcast book now.  Fox has the Super Bowl — could he be behind the mic next month for the big game in Phoenix?

It doesn’t look like his Tampa Bay team is championship material next season, and Brady is not interested in playing for teams that don’t have a chance to win it all.  So that could open up other opportunities, possibly with the Miami Dolphins.

Instead of speculating, let’s read between the lines of what Brady said after the game while the sting of the loss was still very fresh.  Here’s what he said when asked about his future.

“I’m going to go home and get a good night’s sleep.”

Well, that didn’t clear much up. Brady was his usual classy and professional self talking to reporters after the game, and part of it sounded like he might not be in that situation again. He had high praise for the Bucs, and feel free to see what you think the hidden meaning was with this quote.

“I love this organization. It’s a great place to be. Thank you, everybody, for welcoming me. Just very grateful for the respect, and I hope I gave it back to you guys.”

It’s been a trying year for Brady, probably the rockiest of his career. His team was up and down all year, and his divorce rocked his personal life.

Let’s let the man take some time to figure things out.  No matter what he decides, he’ll still be one of the faces of the NFL.
