It’s not everyday you learn of an idea that is not only fresh and new, but is so practical and appealing it makes you go, “hmm, I think that could really work.”

That’s what a lot of people are saying about the largest yacht in the world that is currently under construction in Norway.

It’s 728 feet long, well over the length of two football fields, and the 33,500 ton vessel is going to be the world’s first residential super yacht.

Oh, it’s super alrighty.  39 luxury apartments will be on board, with so much luxury and so many amenities and opulent bells and whistles that people will swim to Oslo just for a chance to get on the waiting list.

It’s called “Somnio,” which is Latin for “to dream,” but you can make it a reality for the right price, just north of $11 million to own a condo on the boat.

The yacht will be offering the ultimate in service, “seven-star” service to be exact, and it will be sailing into some of the world’s most exotic ports, including New York, the South Pacific, Mediterranean, and yes, there are some expeditions in Antarctica planned.

Here’s what the co-founder of Somnio, Erik Bredhe had to say in a statement.

“Owners will share a truly unique lifestyle at sea, with a hand-picked crew and a never-ending global itinerary of carefully selected destinations and experiences befitting a yacht of this nature.”

He’s actually under-selling what this boat offers.  Restaurants, bars, lounges, spas, shopping, insane views and a 10,000-bottle wine cellar if you just want to stay in your luxury accommodations and get blasted.

I know what you’re thinking… when does it set sale? 2024, so you have roughly three years to inherit a fortune, get lucky day trading, win the lottery or learn how to play quarterback in the NFL.
