File this one under the headline “nothing about this makes any sense at all.”

The story of the radical nudist who attacked Nancy Pelosi’s elderly husband with a hammer inside their San Francisco home gets more bizarre by the day.

Here’s the latest from a Daily Mail story that police sources provided.

Reportedly, Paul Pelosi was calm and didn’t even tell officers who responded to his house that he was in danger when they paid a visit. The 82-year-old then reportedly walked back into the house, where Davide DePape beat him with a hammer and allegedly made comments about wanting to break the kneecaps of Nancy.

NBC News reported that Pelosi had a nice friendly chat with the officers, then walked back into the house, and police saw the subsequent attack.

What’s not known is if Pelosi had already been assaulted or what his mental state was.

What is known is that Pelosi and the attacker had their hands on the hammer when police walked in and shouted, “drop the hammer!”

Another odd detail is that the police who responded were unaware that it was Nancy Pelosi’s home.

Kolby Wilmes and Kyle Cagney were the officers that responded. They rang the doorbell and reportedly told Pelosi not to open the door, but he ignored their command and did it anyway. He calmly talked to the cops and told them, “everything’s good.”

Pelosi went back in, and the cops shined their flashlights to see the struggle. The nudist wrestled the hammer away and hit Pelosi in the head, knocking him out.

The US Capitol Police were supposed to provide security for the home and are now doing an internal investigation.
