All these “body positivity” campaigns are BULLSH*T.

Celebrities and influencers are constantly editing their photos. I don’t know about you, but I’m OVER IT!

If celebrities and influencers were truly “body positive,” they wouldn’t photoshop and edit their appearances so much. I’m not talking about some minor blurring.

They look like completely different people!

Celebrities have been photoshopping and making tweaks to their bodies for ages, yes, but ever since the rise of social media, it has given celebrities an entirely new platform and method of controlling what the public gets to see.

From a P.R. aspect, it’s amazing, but from a social aspect, it’s harmful to society’s mental health.

Unfortunately, adolescents who struggle with their self-esteem and use social media the most have suffered the consequences of the harmful effects of social media.

Instagram is ranked as the most HARMFUL app for young people’s mental health, with Snapchat and Facebook following.  Youtube was ranked as the only “positive” app in terms of social media.

Even Kim Kardashian has been caught editing her Skims’ campaigns.

I get it… it’s not “easy” being famous.

Due to their fame and notoriety, celebrities and influencers feel the pressure of constantly feeling the need to look “perfect.”

While it may be harmless in their eyes, the effects of the rampant photoshopping or “face tuning,” has created very unrealistic standards of beauty. Not only that, but it has caused peoples’ mental health to cripple.

What do you think? Is it okay for celebrities edit and photoshop their photos?
