Carrie, Miranda, Samantha and Charlotte might be dressing to the nines to get checks with lots of zeroes on the end again.

A “Sex and the City” return has been rumored forever, but the actresses involved have been about as committed to the idea as Big was to Carrie Bradshaw. This time, it might be serious, but that is always what Carrie thought, too.

After Sarah Jessica Parker told “Entertainment Tonight” that she would be interested in a “revisit” rather than a reboot, New York Post gossip site Page Six reports that an industry insider said “Sex and the City” will return with a limited series on HBO Max – but not with Kim Cattrall, who stars in the Fox series “Filthy Rich.”

Cattrall, who played public relations guru Samantha Jones, has been at odds publicly with Parker for a while and shared that she has no interest in bringing back her character. Parker offered condolences at the death of Cattrall’s brother in 2018, but Cattrall posted on Instagram, “Your continuous reaching out is a painful reminder of how cruel you really were then and now. Let me make this VERY clear. (If I haven’t already) You are not my family. You are not my friend.”

Parker has warmed up to the idea of reviving the filthy, funny rom-com drama that also starred Kristin Davis and Cynthia Nixon, even being intrigued by how the characters would fit with modern plotlines about the #MeToo and Time’s Up movements. Since 1998, the show has provided a cathartic life guide for single young metropolitan women.

“I’d like to see where all of them are,” Parker told ET. “I’m curious. The world has changed even since the movie.”

But a cosmo is made the same. Get the cocktails ready to see if Samantha returns and who is cast to play her.
