In a fast-developing story Wednesday, the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee opened an investigation surrounding newly released emails which reveal that Hunter Biden introduced his father, former Vice President and current presidential candidate Joe Biden, to a Ukrainian executive of the natural gas firm Burma Holdings. This intro happened in 2015, at the request of Joe Biden’s son.

The New York Post obtained the emails that reveal Joe Biden met with Vadym Pozharskyi back in April of 2015, in Washington, D.C., while Biden was still Vice President.

Fox News reported that Committee Chairman Ron Johnson, R-Wis, stated the committee has been in touch with the provider of the emails and was currently working to validate the information.

“We regularly speak with individuals who email the committee’s whistleblower account to determine whether we can validate their claims,” Johnson told Fox News. “Although we consider those communications to be confidential, because the individual in this instance spoke with the media about his contact with the committee, we can confirm receipt of his email complaint, have been in contact with the whistleblower, and are in the process of validating the information he provided.”

The potentially damaging emails reveal that Hunter introduced his father to Pozharskyi less than a year before the Vice President pressured government officials in Ukraine to fire prosecutor Viktor Shokin who was investigating the company. Hunter Biden had a high-paying position on the board of Burma.t

Joe Biden was bragged on camera that when he was VP, overseeing the Obama administration’s Ukraine policy, he did in fact facilitate the firing of the prosecutor.

“I looked at them and said: I’m leaving in six hours. If the prosecutor is not fired, you’re not getting the money,” Biden told the Council on Foreign Relations in 2018.

“Well, son of a bitch,” Biden continued. “He got fired.”

Joe Biden’s camp said his intervention has nothing to do with his son. Emails in the Senate investigators’ possession should paint a clear picture of what happened.
