From coworkers to lovers and now off the air? ABC News’ “GMA 3” co-hosts Amy Robach and T.J. Holmes are no longer on air after rumors of an affair were confirmed. The network President, Kim Godwin, made the announcement to staff Monday. From some of Godwin’s comments, the duo’s affair has made daily operations difficult, and she’s fed up with the office gossip. Godwin states the relationship between Holmes and Robach has caused a distraction on and off the air. She made it clear while their relationship is not against company policy, she would be taking them off the air until they figure out what to do next. She also asked staff to stop gossiping about the affair and do their jobs.

Daily Mail was the first to report the affair. In an exclusive, they posted several photos of the couple holding hands, the two at a bar, and a video of Holmes patting Robach on the butt while what appears to be a date together outdoors. After the photos were leaked, both anchors continued to work on the show as normal. Neither person has made an official statement about the affair nor has their spouses. Both anchors are married to other people.

The network’s president did not say taking the anchors off the air was a permanent change. It is transparent that management will need a PR miracle to save a show that reportedly brought in a revenue of nearly $43.4 million in advertisements in 2021. Earlier this year, the show beat out rival shows Today Hoda & Jenna and The Talk for the number one spot in most viewers.

There has yet to be an official word on how long Holmes or Robach will remain off the air, but Stephanie Ramos and Gio Benitez will host the show in the interim.
