Russia Grants Citizenship to Edward Snowden
Russia on Monday granted citizenship to former American intelligence contractor Edward Snowden, who fled prosecution after he revealed highly classified U.S. surveillance programs to capture communications and data from around the world.
After years of separation from our parents, my wife and I have no desire to be separated from our SONS.
After two years of waiting and nearly ten years of exile, a little stability will make a difference for my family. I pray for privacy for them—and for us all. https://t.co/24NUK21TAo pic.twitter.com/qLfp47uzZ4

A decree signed Monday by Russian President Vladimir Putin listed Snowden as one of 75 foreign citizens who were granted Russian citizenship. After fleeing the U.S. in 2013, Snowden was granted permanent Russian residency in 2020 and said at the time that he planned to apply for Russian citizenship but would not be renouncing his U.S. citizenship.
Edward Snowden, 39, is considered by many who are awake to the truth about our governments, to be a courageous whistleblower. Snowden wanted to protect American civil liberties and expose the government.

Snowden Exposed the U.S. Government for Spying on Its Citizens
The government would never admit to this. How many times do we need to say it: DO. NOT. TRUST. THE. GOVERNMENT.
I don’t care if it’s Trump, Biden, or Bush. They are all the same. They are all involved in various illegal activities. They lie to Americans. They steal money from their citizens via taxes. They kill innocent people in meaningless wars for their own personal gain. They divide the people through propaganda and disinformation campaigns because they know their biggest enemy is a large, unified group.
Elites and politicians are immune to the law, but peasant citizens are not.
It’s almost as if nothing has changed since the medieval times of chivalry and feudalism.
Brilliant article by @Snowden on the CIA— its formation, why it exists and what it has done. https://t.co/No6oly74FC pic.twitter.com/xO6zg5nKgJ

Snowden leaked documents on the National Security Agency’s collection of data passing through the infrastructure of U.S. phone and internet companies.
He exposed details about the classified U.S. intelligence budget and the extent of American surveillance on foreign officials, including the leaders of U.S. allied countries who collaborated with American politicians to spy on citizens.
Snowden leaked the documents because he believed “the United States had gone too far and wrongly infringed on Americans’ civil liberties.”
He also said that he didn’t believe President Obama’s administration at the time would do anything if he had made an “internal whistleblower complaint” instead. Using logic, why would the government expose its own corruption?
In 2013 Snowden was charged with unauthorized disclosure of U.S. national security and intelligence information as well as theft of government property. The three charges carry a maximum 10-year penalty.
U.S. intelligence officials have accused Snowden of putting “U.S. personnel at risk and damaging national security.”
Think what you want about Snowden and Russia. He did an immense public service by exposing mass surveillance programs that multiple courts later found to be unconstitutional. The newspapers that happily collected prizes for their reporting on the abuses should say this clearly.

Since the beginning of time, we have seen people murdered and imprisoned for exposing the truth.
Jesus Christ is a great historical example of someone who tried to do that and gained a large following. He told the truth and they had him killed.
We need to learn from history if we want to prevent it from reoccurring.
Did you know that whistleblowers are sentenced to more time in prison than corrupt officials who trade secrets for sex—more time than even actual spies?
The government has made *telling* the truth a greater crime than *selling* it.#PardonRealityWinner pic.twitter.com/dMdFxOlf4g

Telling the truth has always been treason.
Christ was a symbol of courage, truth, and love for all.
He tried to expose the government and the truth about this world, but out of fear of losing their own power, the high priests had him arrested and crucified.
“Jesus said, ‘My kingdom is not from this world. If my kingdom were from this world, my servants would be fighting to keep me from being handed over to the leaders. But, as it is, my kingdom is not from here” (John 18:36).
