The times, they are a changin’.

The Wall Street Journal did an update on a poll they conducted back in 1998.

In ’98, 70% of Americans said patriotism was very important to them. Now, it’s 38%.

62% of Americans back then said faith was very important to them. Now, that sits at a record low 39%. Among those under 30, it sits at 23%.

And we’re going to see a lot less parents in this generation. It was already in decline in ’98 when 59% of respondents said raising children was very important to them. Now it’s at 30%.

The nation is more divided than ever. In a more recent poll in 2018, 80% of Americans said they have a belief of tolerance towards others. Now it’s at 58%.

The hustle culture has certainly had its impact. In ’98, 31% of Americans said money was very important. Now, it’s a whopping 43%.

And the party divide is more pronounced than ever. In this most recent poll, 59% of GOPers said patriotism was important to them, compared to just 23% of Democrats.

On some new issues, the poll has fascinating results, proving itself to be just not that woke. 63 of Americans thought corporation shouldn’t take political, public stances, while 36% think it’s a good idea.

Americans take a middle of the road bend when it comes to transgendered people. 43% said society has gone too far in accepting them, with 33% saying society hasn’t gone far enough, while 23% says the acceptance and treatment of trans people is just right.

Since the late 1940’s, society has consistently gotten less religious and more liberal. Hard to stop the changing tides.
