Jacob Chansley, AKA ‘QAnon Shaman,’ AKA the face of Jan. 6 has been released from prison to a halfway house 14 months before his sentence was initially due to end.

Chansley, 35, pleaded guilty in Sept. 2021 for civil disorder and violent entry to the Capitol, amongst other charges. He was then sentenced to 41 months in federal prison two months later.

Considering recently released video footage of the Jan. 6 riot, Chansley’s attorney demanded he be freed. His move to the halfway house appears to be standard federal prison policy.

In a statement to DailyMail.com, Albert S. Watkins, the attorney who handled Chansley’s plea and sentencing, applauded his transfer to a halfway house.

‘After serving eleven months in solitary prior to his sentence being imposed, and only 16 months of his sentence thereafter, it is appropriate this gentle and intelligent young man be permitted to move forward with the next stage of what undoubtedly will be a law-abiding and enriching life,’ said Watkins.

He added, ‘I applaud the decision of the US Bureau of Prison in this regard.’

Watkins argued earlier this month that Chansley should be freed after Fox News host Tucker Carlson aired the previously unseen footage from the riot.

The ‘shaman” appeared to be escorted inside the Capitol by Capitol police officers and appeared to be treated like a “sightseer” all throughout the footage, even being seen praying with and for the officers alongside him.

Watkins has previously said that his former client disavows the ‘QAnon’ conspiracy theory and prefers to be known as ‘the Shaman’.

This is a developing story.
