A quick glance across social media and a flip through cable news channels confirms the obvious; pretty much everyone wants to speculate on the president’s health. Among all the chatter, Donald Trump took the topic to Twitter in a Saturday evening video release. In the video, he let the public know he’s starting to feel better and he hopes to be back soon.

In the four-minute video, Trump said he wasn’t feeling so well when he was admitted to Walter Reed Medical Center on Friday afternoon. The president sounded a little raspy in the video but said he is feeling better now, and with the help of his doctors and nurses, “We’re working hard to get me all the way back.”

The President went on to thank the doctors and nurses treating him at Walter Reed as well as thanking all of those who have sent well wishes, including world leaders and Americans on both sides of the political landscape. “I just want to be so thankful for all of the support I’ve seen, whether it’s on television or reading about it. I, most of all, appreciate what’s been said by the American people, by almost a bipartisan consensus of American people. It’s a beautiful thing to see. And I very much appreciate it and I won’t forget it–promise you that. I also want to thank the leaders of the world for their condolences and their–they know what we’re going through,” he said.

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell said he had spoken with Trump and that the president seems to be doing well. “Just had another great call with @POTUS. He sounds well and says he’s feeling good,” McConnell said on Twitter. “We talked about the people’s business–fighting the pandemic, confirming Judge Barrett, and strengthening the economy for American families,” he added.

Trump is expected to stay at Walter Reed for a few days, according to Dr. Sean Conley, Trump’s physician. The president is working from the hospital’s presidential suite, which is fully equipped for Trump to keep up his presidential duties. Conley also said that the president’s medical team is “extremely happy” with the president’s progress and that Trump has been “fever free for 24-hours.”
