Patrick Bet-David and Michael Franzese sparked a conversation on Tucker Carlson and the future of Fox News without their all-star journalist and host on Tuesday’s edition of the PBD Podcast.

Patrick begins with the question, “What are your thoughts about what happened with Tucker, what happened with Fox, his next move, Fox’s mistake, is there stuff that we’re not thinking about — what are some things you saw when that announcement was made?”

Franzese: “Well, I really think Tucker was blindsided — we chatted a little bit back and forth. He didn’t know that was going to happen, but it seems that today that you can’t say anything that’s going to offend anybody in any way. The news is not what the news was before — I mean everything is about opinions and who you are going to offend or not offend. I think it was crazy to take a guy like that off the air — I mean, who had such a huge following. It doesn’t affect him, he can go anywhere he wants as you want but I couldn’t believe it.

Patrick: He’s a once in a generation type of guy.

The guys continued the conversation bringing up major conservative voices in the news media game — Rush Limbaugh, Bill O’Reilly, Megyn Kelly, Glenn Beck and Tucker Carlson. Patrick asks a very real question — “Where do you rank Tucker amongst those five?”

Franzese: Oh my God, he’s right up on top now.

According to the former mobster, the mafia has always dealt with democrats. When Franzese was in prison, he began listening to Rush Limbaugh and realized that many points Limbaugh spoke about he agreed wirth. He now considers himself a conservative.

After spending time with Tucker ‘off-camera,’ Franzese found Carlson “very genuine, very honest, and he says what he feels, and I think he really cares.” He continues, “And he didn’t mean to be offensive, he just spoke his peace.”
