Unfortunately, Los Angeles is doing the opposite of living up to its nickname “La La Land.” The definition means “a mental state detached from the harsher realities of life,” but LA has become a land of disbelief, as headline after headline brings a harsh reminder to residents and visitors of how far this great city has fallen.

Let’s start in Beverly Hills, where a boutique clothing store called Kitson has banned visitors from wearing masks.  It wasn’t long ago when you couldn’t get into a store in LA without wearing a mask, but because of a wave of robberies where employees could not identify thieves, Kitson is saying stay out if you have a mask on.

Here’s what the owner Fraser Ross told a TV station in Los Angeles.

“The mask mandate may have begun as a health precaution, but we believe it is now being used by some people for nefarious purposes. To that end, we enacted our own mandate of sorts. We do not allow the wearing of masks in the store during regular business hours. Those people who wish to wear masks are free to set up an appointment for a personal shopping experience or visit our website.”

Robberies are a common occurrence in all parts of LA, and high-end security cameras can’t even identify the thieves because they are wearing masks in most cases.

Hopefully, this new mandate will thwart crime at this store.

Now, from Kitson to kittens. Another story that could happen only in LA. Los Angeles County is now offering free COVID tests for pets who may have been exposed to the coronavirus.

Most sane people are wondering who the heck is paying for this, and the answer is the CDC and the CSTE (Council of State and Territorial Epidemiologists).

So far, 177 tests have been conducted.  There has yet to be a single positive case in an animal.
