Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) is promising to “change America” if the Democrats “take Georgia.” The remarks were made in New York on Saturday as Schumer and Democrats look to fundamentally change America if they regain control of the Senate.
The Senate majority is still up for grabs, as it appears that the two Georgia Senate seats are headed for a runoff election. In Georgia a candidate must win at least 50% of the vote to avoid a runoff, and right now the leading candidates in both Georgia seats have failed to reach that 50% threshold.
Among the items on the Democrats’ wish list to change America is an opportunity to first eliminate the filibuster and then focus on huge power grabs that include giving statehood to Puerto Rico and Washington D.C. – which would basically be adding four Senate seats for Democrats, thus making it extremely difficult for Republicans to gain control of the upper chamber in the future. Schumer has also indicated his intentions of packing the Supreme Court. The idea of packing the Supreme Court has remained one of the most unpopular proposals of the far left, as only 27% of Americans say they would support it.
Joe Biden seems to be completely in sync with the far-left agenda, telling the New York Times last year, “If I’m able to pass what I’m talking about, my administration would go down as one of the most progressive administrations in American history.”
Vice President–elect Kamala Harris has been rated by GovTrack, a nonpartisan organization that collects data on voting records in Congress, as the most far-left member of the U.S. Senate, placing her to the left of self-described democratic socialist Bernie Sanders.
