New York Governor Andrew Cuomo became the latest politician to have to squirm under the bright lights of television cameras as he apologized for “acting in a way that made people feel uncomfortable. It was unintentional and I truly and deeply apologize for it. I feel awful about it and frankly I am embarrassed by it.”

Cuomo also said he is “embarrassed” by his actions, and will cooperate with the New York attorney general’s investigation of his conduct, but he will not resign, which is what many people were calling for him to do.

A total of three women have now come forward, including Anna Ruch, who accused Cuomo of grabbing her face and kissing her cheek without permission.

There are photos on social media showing the incident that occurred at the wedding of one of Ruch’s friends. Cuomo claimed that’s what he does, kissing people is his “customary” form of greeting people.

“You can find hundreds of pictures of me making the same gesture with hundreds of people, women, men, children, etc. You can go find hundreds of pictures of me kissing people. Men, women, it is my usual and customary way of greeting.”

He asked that people refrain from forming opinions about the allegations until the Attorney General, Letitia James wraps up her investigation.

The heat is on Cuomo, as almost 30 lawmakers from both parties have said the governor should either resign or face impeachment of the scandal.

Even the Mayor of New York, Bill De Blasio has blasted Cuomo and said that if the allegations are true, “he can not govern.”

This was the first media briefing Cuomo has made since February 19, and he was far less bombastic than usual.

”I have learned from what has been an incredibly difficult situation for me, as well as other people. I have learned an important lesson,” he said.
