It wasn’t long ago nobody knew who Lil Nas X was. Those days are long gone.

The number of people who are disgusted by the controversial performer is a lot larger now than a few days ago, after he started promoting a line of shoes being marketed and sold by MSCHF Product Studio.

The shoes are called “Satan Shoes,” otherwise known as “The Blood Shoes.”  Not much was left to the imagination on these either.

The company customized Nike Air Max 97 shoes with a pentagram symbol, a verse from the Bible that references Satan, (Luke 10:18 that reads: “I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven”) and actual human blood.

Wait, there’s more.  The company said they were only going to be 666 pairs available, and the cost is over a thousand dollars.

The reaction was swift, on multiple fronts. Lil Nas X has lost a whole lot of fans, many who vowed on social media that they would never listen to his hit song “Old Town Road” again.

That is the most-streamed song ever, a monstrous hit, and even high profile athletes and personalities like future NFL star Trevor Lawrence.  “Line has to be drawn somewhere. Smh,” the former Clemson star who should be the top pick in the upcoming NFL Draft tweeted.

Nike wants nothing to do with this either, and moved swiftly to make sure the world knows they had nothing to do with it. They filed a trademark infringement suit on MSCHF Product Studio Monday.

The shoe giant sent a message to CNN saying  “We do not have a relationship with Lil Nas or MSCHF.  Nike did not design or release these shoes and we do not endorse them.”

They didn’t mention Lil Nas X in the lawsuit, even though he’s been promoting and endorsing the shoes since last week.

Unsurprisingly, the line of shoes sold out in less than a minute.
