Every once in a while, you see a story where the only thing you can think of is this: there’s no way this woman can win “mom of the year” honors now.

Put 48-year old Laura Oglesby in that category.  For sure!

The mom from Missouri admitted to stealing her daughter’s identity in order to hook herself up; With student loans she could use to enroll in college and with young coeds in the middle of her warped sexual fantasies.

If nothing else, Oglesby was undoubtedly committed, as she started this scam five years ago, when she applied for a Social Security card under her daughter’s name and then started telling people her name was Lauren Hays.  And she was 22 years old.

She was very good at what she did, and young men two decades her junior were completely fooled when she would seduce them.

Here’s what Mountain View Police Chief Jamie Perkins had to say.

“Everyone believed it. She even had boyfriends that believed that she was that age: 22 years old.”

She should have gone into sales; at least she wouldn’t be in jail.

She convinced a local couple that she was a 22-year old college girl escaping a domestic abuse situation, and the couple let her live in their home.  Oglesby had transformed her wardrobe, persona, and entire look to pull this scam off.

She’s now facing up to five years in prison after pleading guilty to a sole count of intentionally providing false information t the Social Security Administration.

She also has to pay back over $17,000 in restitution to a local college and to her daughter. Who, unsurprisingly, she’s estranged with.
