Mike Tyson recently declared he heard Jamie Foxx suffered a stroke in April amidst media reports of his mysterious, yet undisclosed health scare which left the actor hospitalized for weeks.
Foxx’s family was spotted over the weekend, visiting a specialized health facility which treats patients who have suffered ‘severe complex conditions.’
Iron Mike said of Foxx: “He’s not feeling well. They said a stroke. I have no idea what happened to him.”
During the boxer’s appearance on the PBD Podcast, host Patrick Bet-David voiced his own dismay over the actor’s severe health scare, revealing in his discussion with Tyson that he had just spent time with the actor only months prior to the medical incident.
‘We were at a restaurant in LA … he showed up, looked really good,’ he said. ‘And then all of a sudden you hear stories.’
Tyson replied: ‘Hey listen, we can’t anticipate our next breath, we don’t know when we’re going to die.’

While the 55-year-old actor’s specific ailment remains unconfirmed, he has been undergoing treatment at a Chicago facility which provides stroke recovery.
Born Eric Bishop, Foxx was filming “Back in Action,” a film directed by Seth Gordon, when he was admitted to the hospital. His co-star, Cameron Diaz, has reportedly been filming with body doubles since his unexpected absence. The movie is set to be distributed by the streaming service Netflix in early 2024.
Jamie’s role in Tyson’s upcoming biopic remains uncertain, with Bet-David asking: “Is he still doing the movie or no?”
Tyson stated, “I don’t know what’s going to happen now,” adding there was a chance that Foxx would have portrayed the boxer.
“Jamie’s closer to my age, and they were going to do to him what they did with Benjamin Button, they were going to make him young (for the film),” he explained.
The conversation reverted to the topic at hand — Foxx’s health — with Tyson concluding: “If we don’t know by now, they don’t want us to know.”
