Meghan Markle signed an $18 million podcast deal with Spotify way back in December of 2020.  She debuted her first episode this week, over two and a half years later, and a big topic on the program was Megan talking about how ambitious she is.  That’s what is commonly referred to as “irony,” I believe.

Could you imagine if she were lazy? That first episode might not have hit until Prince Harry’s red hair had turned white.

Her 57-minute long first episode dealt with the struggles the former Duchess of Sussex has had to deal with being an ambitious woman.  Her gal pal Serena Williams joined her on the show, and people around the world tuned in in droves.  Millions of people were anxious to check it out, and it rose to the top of the charts for podcast ratings in the U.S., Australia, UK, Ireland, and Canada.

So that means Joe Rogan has been knocked from the top perch at Spotify. It’s happened before, last September when the gaming podcast Banter with Snapnap and Karl Jacobs took over the number one spot, and again this past May when the fiction series Batman Unburied pushed Rogan to No. 2 for a week.

Maybe Joe and Meghan can combine forces and crank out an episode the entire world will listen to.  It could be good, especially after Rogan referred to her as a “little American hussy” in February of 2021.  Shortly after, 113 of his episodes “disappeared” from the Spotify platform, only to “magically” reappear after he issued an apology.
