McDonald’s has done celebrity meals before, this is not their first rodeo. But partnering with BTS might be their best idea since the Hamburger decided to give up his life of crime.

The Golden Arches are going big on this particular promotion too.  Starting on May 26, the “BTS Meal” will go on sale in the United States, Canada and Brazil, and shortly after that 50 other countries in six continents around the world. (Fans in South Korea will start getting the meal on My 27th.)

Okay, so what is going to be in the BTS Meal?  A 10-piece Chicken McNuggets, medium fries and Coke. Which happens to be the same thing about 34 million 12-year olds’ in the U.S eat on a regular basis.

BTS takes that pretty ordinary meal next level with their dipping sauces though – cajun flavors and sweet chili, which according to McDonald’s happens to be inspired by South Korea recipes.  That makes sense.

McDonald’s hit a home run partnering with Travis Scott lately, but this has got the makings of a next-level success, based on the world-wide fan base and devotion of BTS’s followers.

They became only the third group in 50 years to have three number one albums on the Billboard 200 charts in less than a year, joining The Beatles and Them Monkees in that rarified air.

With such tiny margins in the restaurant business, these celebrity promotions are a good way for McDonald’s to gain free promotion.  Plus, the special menu items are easy to construct because they contain meals that are already on the menu.
