Say this about Mark Cuban; he’s unique.
The Dallas Mavericks owner, billionaire investor, and one of the stars of “Shark Tank” on ABC once described the difference between being a millionaire and a billionaire as this.
“Being a millionaire is having F you money. Being a billionaire is having F everyone money.”
Get the difference? For instance, being a billionaire means you can buy a 77-acre town in Texas even though you don’t have any plans for it whatsoever.
A company Cuban controls purchased Mustang, a town about 55 miles south of Dallas.
Why did Cuban buy it? Well, the Dallas Morning News reported he did it because a friend needed to sell it.
Cuban has no need for it and no plan for it either.
“I don’t know what if anything I will do with it,” he said.
The town has a Toal population of 21 people according to the 2010 census, and it sits on just under 77 acres.
It’s unclear how much Cuban paid for the town, but the most recent listing was for $2 million. Cuban’s friend is the realtor that controlled the listing.
So, what is Cuban getting with this purchase? Well, a building owned by the Mustang Volunteer Fire Department, for one thing, and a pond with an alligator.
Wait, one more thing. An old strip club that apparently needs some work.
No word if Cuban will dip into his estimated $5.9 billion net worth to fix the strip club.
