Everything was in place, except the guy proposing to his girlfriend.
Here’s what went down.
The Miami Dolphins hosted the New York Jets Sunday. A fan had coordinated things with the marketing department for the Dolphins and was going to propose to his girlfriend at the game.
Right at halftime, a huge picture of the happy couple, along with the phrase “Will you marry me? appeared on the Jumbotron. The camera cut to the couple’s seats, and one of the seats was empty.
Yes, the guy missed his very own proposal because he was in line to go to the bathroom or get snacks.
A reporter for The Athletic named Connor Hughes was at the game and tweeted this.
“So they just did a scoreboard proposal here at Hard Rock. However, when they cut away from this graphic to where the two are supposed to be sitting, the guy wasn’t there. Just the girl, sitting there, hand over mouth! Dude must have been in the concession line lol.”
As long as she eventually said yes, the embarrassment is no doubt worth it.
