Florida Governor Ron DeSantis is not a huge fan of his cohort from California — that would be Gavin Newsom, whom DeSantis blasted for his woke policies while giving a speech at the Ronald Regan Library north of Los Angeles.

He took the fight to Newsom, laying out why he believes many Californians fled Cali for Florida.

“I know you’ve got a lot of problems out here, but your governor is very concerned about what we are doing in Florida, so I figured I had to come by.”

DeSantis has not officially declared a run for President in 2024, but why else would he be in California if he wasn’t? A crowd of 1,300 showed up to hear him speak, many probably jealous he wasn’t running their state or country. Newsom is in the news for declaring a state of emergency in California and then leaving the state for a bit of R&R on a “personal travel” day.

The Florida Gov is taking a trip to other states to promote his book, which was the official reason for his visit. He also got to speak behind the presidential podium since he was in Regan’s library and looked and sounded pretty presidential.

He kept his speech focused on not bowing to woke institutions and his tough stance on crime, education, and parental rights. All will be hot-button subjects in the next election. He specifically targeted California policies.

Here’s one part of his speech that drew a rousing round of applause.

“They should not be teaching a second grader that they can choose their gender that is wrong. And that is not going to happen in the state of Florida. And I know you have a company down the road in Burbank that had different ideas about that. But I can tell you this – they may have gotten everything they want in Florida for the last 60 years, but there’s a new sheriff in town now, and we are not backing down to that.”

It’s nice listening to a potential presidential candidate who isn’t 80 years old or approaching it.
