This tragic news comes to us this morning as the Ukraine-Russia war continues. At least 19 people were killed as explosions were heard throughout Kyiv and its surrounding cities in the early hours of today.

Russian forces rained missiles into the city, striking several residential buildings, businesses and private homes throughout the area.

On his Telegram channel early this morning, President Vladimir Zelenskyy commented, “Every such attack, every evil act against our country and people brings the terrorist state closer to failure and punishment, not vice versa, as they think. He continued, “We will not forget any crime, we will not let any invader avoid responsibility.”

Missile attacks also hit the city of Uman, attacks damaging over 10 residential buildings, according to Zelensky. Out of 46 apartments, 27 of them were completely destroyed.

16 citizens from Uman were reported dead by 7:15 am, including 2 children who could not be identified, with the fates of their parents remaining unknown. 2 people were also killed by a missile attack in Dnipro, overnight.

Early this morning, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed into law that any naturalized Russians will be stripped of their citizenship if they threaten national security. Russian defense military also commented that the overnight missile attacks were “aimed at preventing Ukraine’s army reserve units from reaching the frontline.”

As of 8:40 am this morning, the Associated Press is reporting that 19 people have died in Ukraine following the overnight missile strikes.

This is a developing story.
