If Kim Kardashian were able to host Saturday Night Live a couple times a month the show would become a lot more relevant and popular than it currently is.

When the NBC show announced Kardashian was going to host the show on the second episode of the season, it seemed like a brilliant move, and the ratings proved it was.

She did not have a tough act to follow though. The season premiere the previous week was the lowest-rated in the show’s history, and Kim pumped the numbers up by 23% Saturday night.

The writers did a masterful job of catering to Kim’s strengths. She whipped through a tight and concise monologue, with funny and timely self-deprecating jokes.  She poked fun at her family, her famous sex tape, and her wealth and fame.  Here’s one zinger.

“I’m so used to having 360 million followers watching my every move, and how many people watch SNL? Like 10 million? Tonight is just a chill, intimate night for me.”

Kim crushed Owen Wilson’s numbers from a week ago. He earned a 3.8 rating and grabbed a 1.6 rating in the 18-49 demographic, which is what advertisers want to reach.

The jokes and sketches were funny and biting. A number of famous faces made cameos, including Chris Rock, her mother Kris, and sister Khloe.

ONe of the more memorable sketches was a Bachelorette spoof, that Rock, John Cena, and Blake Griffin showed up in.

She also played a hot but ditzy lottery number reader named Shonda for a local newscast.

She called her mom’s boyfriend Corey Gamble a gold-digger.  She roasted her sister Kourtney’s obnoxious public PDA she’s been showing with Travis Barker all over the world.

She knocked the episode out of the park.
