It’s the political moment millions of people have waited for, and it could go down as the most eventful announcement of the 2020 campaign season. At roughly 4:01 p.m. Eastern Standard Time on Friday, October 16, 2020, the esteemed power couple composed of Jennifer Lopez, a.k.a. J-Lo, and her friend/boyfriend/business partner/fiancé/confidant/chauffeur/butler Alex Rodriguez, a.k.a. A-Rod, announced whom they were endorsing for President of the United States.

With the utter and complete unpredictability of celebrity endorsements, the world knew this could literally go either way. Would they join every other well-known personality in Hollywood and New York and go with the bombshell announcement of endorsing Joe Biden? Or possibly take the safer route, and guarantee the cancellation of their careers by putting their support behind Donald Trump?

The 51-year old singer/dancer/actress/entrepreneur/brand and the 45-year-old former baseball star appeared remotely from separate locations, then magically appearing on the screen were Joe and Jill Biden, and to the shock of so many, J-Lo and A-Rod informed Biden they were not only supporting him, but anxiously awaiting the opportunity to cast their ballot. “We’re thrilled and we’re excited to vote,” Rodriguez announced. “I think our voice has never been more important.”

Lopez shared her reasons for getting behind the Bidens, saying, “For me, it’s unifying the nation again,” Lopez joined in. “You know, getting rid of this hate. Thinking about my kids walking around in a world where, you know, it’s OK to be racist or prejudiced because our administration says it’s OK. That to me is really sad.”

With this announcement out of the way, the world turns its focus to speculating about whom George and Amal Clooney might be siding with. Another celebrity endorsement that appears to be a flip of the coin right now.
