Is there a more scrutinized role in the history of Hollywood than the actor who plays James Bond? Some, like Sean Connery and Daniel Craig, have masterfully pulled it off. Some were much better than the credit they received (Piers Brosnan).

Some kind of just fell flat.  Sorry, Timothy Dalton.

With Craig getting killed off in the last installment of the 007 franchise, someone has to step into those expensive loafers, and one name is coming to the forefront. Lucien Laviscount.  If you haven’t heard of him, he’s a British actor famous for his role in Emily in Paris on Netflix.  He’s a smooth and stylish hunk, a prerequisite for the role, and he’s gotten the attention of producer Barbara Broccoli.  She’s the only person worth impressing, by the way, because she holds the rights to the franchise and calls the shots.

The man who played “Alfie” on the Netflix hit is the frontrunner for the gig. Word is they will start stunt testing to see if he might have the physical chops to pull off the role.

Idris Elba was another name thrown out as a potential next Bond, but if you watch Laviscount on Emily in Paris, he emanates that debonair Bond style needed to pull it off.

It took four years to name Craig as the replacement for Brosnan the last time the franchise needed a new lead. The producers have no interest in taking that much time now.
