Patrick has an illuminating conversation with Michael Malice, a proud, self identifying anarchist. Having a stint at Goldman Sachs before he left the business world, Malice has been a noted ghostwriter and commentator on anarchist ideas.

While anarchism may seem crazy on its face, Malice made some insightful points to Patrick. A number of basic ideals are shared by many conservatives and patriots.

“Less of a reliance on corporate news sources, less respect for the university system and there’s an increasing amount of contempt towards government and government officials,” Malice said.

Patrick shot back that some progress is being made however, without the walls of government completely coming down.

“I think it’s a combination of Covid, Biden, DeSantis and other factors driving us.” He mentioned that even under Biden, more parents are homeschooling their kids.

And detractors of the government are pushing through. Russell Brand, once best known as an actor, has been on msm media, as Patrick points out, criticizing them. “When Russell Brand goes on Bill Maher and annihilates an MSNBC guy to his face to the point where Maher gets uncomfortable, we’re making progress.”

On the bigger picture issues, however, Malice notes there’s little progress. “There’s no incentive in Washington to shrink the size of government by $1. You had Trump and two years of Republican control of congress, and there wasn’t an attempt to abolish a single governmental agency, let alone shrink the size of the government.”

The conversations continues back and fourth. Both agreeing on the problems the government causes, but on different ways to get to the solution. What do you think? Is Malice correct that all is lost, and politicians claiming to want to control spending are simply saving face? Or has their been tangible progress made? It may be the great philosophical debate of our time.
